· Found no ethnic differences in patients reports of primary care provider recommendation of depression treatment
· Significant ethnic differences in rate of actual receipt of treatment
· Latinos (31.5%), and African Americans (44.1%) are less likely to receive antidepressants than whites (56.6%)
· Latinos (31%) are less likely to receive specialty mental health care than African Americans (44.5%) and White patients (68.8%)
· A lower percentage of depressed Latino and African American patients receive treatment for depression that whites.
